§ 11.04.06. License fees.

  • The license fees prescribed below shall be paid in monthly payments due and payable five business days before the first day of the month to the city code office at the office of development, enforcement and facilities before issuance of any license.

    Vending:

    Category "A" license fee—$125.00 per month, effective January 1, 2019.

    Category "B" license fees shall be 50 percent the current rate of category "A" licenses for the first month of operation and the following consecutive 11 months and then after that initial 12-month period the fees shall be 75 percent the rate for the following consecutive 12 months after this consecutive 24-month period, category "B" license holders must transfer to a category "A," failure to do so voids the license which may not be eligible for reapplication for five years from the point of ceasing operations. No business or person may hold a category "B" license for a period of more than two years.

    All unreserved spaces shall revert back to public parking until assigned to a specific vendor. The code enforcement office may, at its discretion, retain one space to accommodate access for vendors.

    These license shall allow the license holder to vend in the designated area pursuant to Section 11.04.13 herein, except during the annual Halloween event, when certain streets are closed and special conditions may be established by Athens City Council.

    No vendor spaces will be reserved at any time on Sundays, however, vendors who have a valid license may vend on Sundays without paying the meter.

    No more than two licenses shall be issued per person, business or family. Vendors must display their permit while vending.

    The maximum number of category "A" and "B" licenses shall be ten.
