§ 9.02.06. Inspections and fees.

To the extent allowed by Ohio Laws and Regulations, the Athens Fire Department may conduct inspections to improve and maintain public safety under the direction of the chief of the department. A fee schedule shall be recommended by the chief and established by separate ordinance. The fee schedule shall be reviewed annually and adjusted when necessary. Fees will be collected for the following: a) construction inspection fees; b) fire safety inspection fees; and c) contracted and extraordinary response services. On the occasion the chief of the department determines a fire response exceeds the standard fire response service provided by the city safety forces, the chief may bill no more than the actual and direct costs to the recipient.
