§ 5.07.01. Purpose and scope.

The purpose and scope of these regulations is to establish technically feasible and economically reasonable standards to achieve a level of erosion and sediment control that will minimize damage to property and degradation of water resources and wetlands, and will promote and maintain the health and safety of the citizens of the City of Athens. This chapter will:
(A)

Allow development while minimizing increases in erosion and sedimentation; and

(B)

Reduce water quality impacts to receiving water resources and wetlands that may be caused by new development or redevelopment activities.

This applies to all regulated discharges outlined in the eligibility section of the most recent version of the Ohio EPA General Construction Stormwater Permit and to all new construction projects within the City of Athens.
