§ 3.07.51. Purpose.

Latest version.

• To work in conjunction with the city parks and recreation board.

• To enhance the existing cultural resources of the entire community and encourage new opportunity.

• To develop a public art policy encouraging the commissioning of public art that supports connection to place (local history and culture) and encompasses cultural, racial and ethnic diversity.

• To work with existing organizations, institutions and individuals to develop a strategy for expanding public art programs in the Athens community.

• To work with a representative of the city administration in implementing ideas.
